What happens when someone submits a form

  1. The visitor fills in the form on your site and presses the submit button (for example Send message).
  2. The form sends the submission straight to the CRM service from the visitor's browser.
  3. The CRM creates or updates a contact using the mapped fields: first name, last name, email and phone.
  4. The CRM opens an inbox conversation for the submission, so you can reply from the CRM.
  5. Campaign details are recorded automatically. Every CRM form carries hidden tracking fields (UTM parameters and the visitor's Google Place, where present) that the CRM adds on creation.
  6. The visitor sees the success message. By default the heading is Thank you and the text reads "We received your message and will get back to you shortly." The assistant can change both.

Which fields become contact fields

Fields that Wigoh recognises as a person's details are mapped to the contact record:

  • an email field → the contact's email,
  • a phone field → the contact's phone number,
  • a field called Name, Full name, Your name or First name → the contact's first name,
  • a field called Last name or Surname → the contact's last name.

Everything else (message, company, dates, dropdowns) is stored with the submission.

Where to read submissions

In the CRM inside the business dashboard. See Where leads go.
