Styling a form

What Wigoh does automatically

  • Migration: the form takes the colours, fonts, borders and button shape of the original form where they could be read.
  • Redesign and build: the form takes the template's global colours and typography, and the template's own form styling where it had one.
  • Editor: a new form starts with a neutral style that reads well on the page.

Colours are checked for readability against the surface they sit on. Text that would not read becomes black or white, and a button that would disappear into the page takes the text colour instead.

Changing the style

Ask the assistant:

  • "Make the form's button match the site's primary button."
  • "Round the inputs and give them a light grey border."
  • "Put first and last name side by side."
  • "Make the labels smaller and uppercase."

The assistant writes styling for the form's parts (labels, inputs, button, the form box) and, for layout inside the form, the form's own styling.

What cannot be styled

The form renders inside its own isolated area, so ordinary page styles do not reach into it. The assistant uses the form's exposed parts; if you ask for something that has no part, it will say so.
