Send a snapshot
In WordPress, on the Wigoh page, press Send to Wigoh (also labelled Create a snapshot or Export).
What is exported
- The full database, including users and options.
- The
wp-contentdirectory: uploads, plugins, mu-plugins, languages and themes, read from where WordPress says they are, plus every otherwp-contentdirectory. Logs, backup-plugin output, caches and host mu-plugins are excluded. - Not exported: this site's Wigoh credentials, transients, and WooCommerce or WP All Import session rows.
How it uploads
In resumable chunks to short-lived, private upload addresses that Wigoh creates for your site only. Oversized or timing-out chunks are halved automatically. Large files resume across requests; media is compressed lightly.
Progress
The phases advance in the admin page: precheck → database → files → fingerprint → manifest → upload → complete. You can abort. A finished snapshot offers Create new snapshot.
Warnings
Unreadable files or directories are skipped with a warning rather than failing the snapshot (capped at 200 warnings per kind). A full disk fails it immediately. Tables whose names are not all lowercase are included. MariaDB-specific schema features are converted so the snapshot restores on Wigoh's server, and every change is listed in the snapshot warnings.
Optional email
You can turn on an email to the site administrator when a snapshot fails or a release rolls back, in Wigoh → Overview. It is off by default.
