When to choose a redesign
Choose a redesign when
- The design is the reason you want to change platforms.
- Your content is good and you want to keep it.
- You are happy to pick from a curated set of templates rather than specify a design.
Choose a migration instead when
- You want the site to look the same as it does now.
- Your brand guidelines are strict and the current site follows them.
Choose build from scratch instead when
- Little of the current content should survive.
- You do not have a site.
Using another site as inspiration
If you tell the assistant "something like example.com" or "take inspiration from example.com", it classifies the request as a redesign and passes the reference along with your own address. Your content is still yours; the reference informs the design direction.
