What “full control” means
Moving to WordPress can give you more choice over hosting, themes, plugins, content models, integrations, and how your website evolves. It does not mean you have to manage everything yourself. It means you can choose who manages each part and change providers when your needs change.
What you gain
- Hosting choice: Select a provider and plan that fit your traffic and budget.
- Content ownership: Work with content in a system your team can access and extend.
- Design flexibility: Change layouts and styles without being limited to one platform's template system.
- Integration choice: Connect the tools your business actually uses.
- A clearer handoff: Document access, responsibilities, backups, and launch procedures.
Control also comes with responsibility. Updates, backups, security, plugin compatibility, and user permissions need an owner and a routine.
Use a preview-first migration
- Map the current site. List pages, content, integrations, accounts, and critical workflows.
- Review the WordPress build. Wigoh creates the site in a separate preview so the current site remains live.
- Make changes in the AI editor. Request edits conversationally or select an element in the preview.
- Choose the operating model. Decide who manages hosting, updates, backups, and support.
- Launch with documented access. Test the site and record the credentials and responsibilities your team needs.
Create an ownership plan
Before launch, decide who controls the domain registrar, hosting account, WordPress administrator accounts, analytics, payment tools, email services, and backups. Use individual accounts where possible and remove access that is no longer needed.
A site is truly under your control when your team can access the important systems, understand the ongoing work, and move providers without losing the business.
Control checklist
- Confirm domain, hosting, and WordPress ownership
- Assign responsibilities for updates and backups
- Review administrator and third-party access
- Test forms, analytics, integrations, and recovery procedures
- Document important URLs and credentials securely
- Approve the preview before launch
- Keep the old platform available until the cutover is verified
